Terry Edwards is a former banker turned entrepreneur who left the traditional workforce in 2015 to pursue financial freedom and a better quality of life.  Terry and his wife Tia formed the Secure Financial Partners, LLC, where they are dedicated to helping families create, grow and preserve wealth.  After having some immediate success of helping protect families by following a simple, proven 8 Steps to Success Formula; Terry realized that if he could do it, any willing person could! Terry immediately began creating entrepreneurship opportunities for others and providing training, mentoring networking and resources to help others establish a profitable and scalable businesses.  Today, Terry has trained thousands of financial services professionals, bringing his comedic skills, infectious energy and relatability to every stage and room, curating an environment of comfort, optimism and transformation. 

Background:

Terry Edwards is a native of Conway, North Carolina.  He is married to his high school sweetheart, Tia, and the father of four wonderful children.  Terry was raised in a single-parent home by his mother, Lois.  Growing up, Terry saw his mom work very physically demanding jobs like working in Chicken Plants and Sewing Factories.  His dad, Leon worked in the State Correction’s Department and farmed many years.  Once you meet Terry, you will quickly realize that hard, manual labor is not his “thing”; but his parents instilled the importance of working hard to get what you want!  

Terry’s humble upbringing has made him able to connect with everyone he encounters on some level. He believes that while he is not better than anyone else, it is his duty to leave everyone better than he met them. Terry holds a BS Degree in Business Administration and an MBA with focus in business management.  His education coupled with his extensive experience in banking uniquely qualifies him to help families address everyday financial issues and guide other entrepreneurs in the industry.  

Given his commitment to always bring value to every room, Terry continues to develop his business acumen, emotional intelligence and interpersonal communication skills through personal and professional development, attending cutting-edge industry training, networking and extensive studying.  

While Terry has a genuine love of working, he always makes time for his family.  He invests in his family, and enjoys family time, whether it’s cooking with his children or traveling.  Outside of the office and the home, Terry can be found in the community serving through his church and his fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.  He is a firm believer that true leaders SERVE FIRST, and must be an example of INTEGRITY and ACCOUNTABILITY.  

Terry believes a person dies two deaths: the first death is the natural one and second death is the last time someone mentions their name.  This wisdom has led him to focus on building a legacy that generations of his family will get to enjoy, and having an indelible impact on the lives of other families through financial services and entrepreneurship. Secure Financial Partners, LLC is the God-idea through which Terry and his wife Tia operate to empower, and equip families to create, grow and preserve wealth.
